Silk is a gift from nature and its origins go back to Cina and India 3500 years ago. The art of painting on silk requires a complex process of elaboration, and particularly if we take into account that the support used is a noble and authentic material. This live fibre breathes and expresses itself in a very special way, so that a dialogue can be established which can turn into a pleasurable relationship. It is a pleasure to tense an inmaculte silk and add colours gently to it creating suggestive shapes and thus transmit ideas and thoughts. There are many ways to paint on silk and each one of them implies different materials, techniques and processes. T he fixing of the colour is done by steam at a high temperature, which guarantees a high quality in the finish and a strong resistance to water and light. The silks that I most use are pongé 8, chinese crepe, georgette crepe, chiffon gauze, wild silk, organza and velvet but it is also possible to work on wool and cotton. The sizes of the fabric vary depending on whether we are talking about scalves, shawls or smart wear. The pictures are also available in different sizes. Apart from working with specific techniques of painting on silk, I use other techniques such as screen printing, batik or devorée. Each piece of work is unique and exclusive which I can transform into pictures, neck scalves, ties, dresses or costume jewellery. There is also a line of short series of scalves with the option of inscribing a logo-type, which, without losing the uniqueness of the hand-made work, could be acquired for company gifts. All the scalves are offered taking care of every detail so that the piece received is unique and personalised. ![]() |
